Firefox Browser

1) If you don't already have it, download and install Firefox

2) Bookmark this page http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5926Z2M

3) Go to - Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Settings, and put a tick next to everything under the 'History' section. Press Ok, and then tick 'Clear History when Firefox closes'.

3) Just vote, close down the Firefox Browser, re-open, vote again, close down the Firefox Browser, re-open, vote again, and so on. You can vote as many times as you like this way.

Google Chrome Browser

1) If you don't already have it, download and install Google Chrome

2) In the top right hand corner of the browser screen there will be a little Spanner' icon. Click that, and then tick 'Always show bookmarks bar'

3) Bookmark this page http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5926Z2M. In Google Chrome, you Bookmark by clicking on the little five pointed star next to the address bar.

4) Click on the little Spanner icon again. and then click on Options -> Under the Hood -> Clear Browsing Data. Once you've clicked on 'Clear Browsing Data', a dialogue box will appear. Check every box, except for 'Clear Saved Passwords'.

5) Where it says 'Clear Data from the period:' choose 'Everything'. Then click the button that says 'Clear browsing data'.

Then vote, close, and reopen Google Chrome. Reclick on the little Spanner icon - Options -> Under the Hood -> Clear Browsing Data -> Wait for Dialogue box to appear -> Click on button that says 'Clear browsing Data'. You can do this as many times as you like, and it will allow you to vote multiple times.

If you clear your cookies and cache after every time you vote. Close down, and then reopen your browser, once again you should be able to vote multiple times.

There had been some concern on another board that voting multiple times, or voting for the actor, might be murky. But as you see, they actually encourage multiple voting.

I work for charities doing fundraising and development... so I can explain why, if you're worried. The poll is a publicity stunt, and I mean that in a nice, even admiring way. A poll creates a horse race, ever so much more buzz-worthy than a press release. It involves a lot of people-- they threw this out onto the internet, and have allowed non-members and non-donors to vote. Cos they don't care who wins; they nominated 5 people they'd be happy to win and then threw it all out there. They WANT lots of hits, lots of votes. Cos then they can tell their corporate sponsors, or would-be sponsors, "See how many votes we got? See how many of your customers will notice your sponsorship?" Plus they're hoping that SOME of us, either now because we love Alex, or later, because we encounter an organ-donation situation, will either begin to support DLA or will sign on to become organ donors. The poll reels us in. They hope. Eventually at least.

It's actually quite brilliant.

So if you're into the voting, and would like to see Alex win, do so. No worries. In fact, they'll get more traction from his winning than for some of the less known folkses on the list. Tho if I were their development person, I'd be pulling for Les. HE got connections to cash coming out the wazoo... but I am no way voting for Les.
